Death Cab for Cutie Plot 2027 Tour
A new video for “Stone Over Water” accompanies the announcement of North American dates
Death Cab for Cutie have unveiled a batch of shows behind I Built You a Tower early next year. Ben Gibbard and co. had already booked a string of dates in Europe, Japan, and Australia, appended by a one-off show in Chicago in November, and will head out on a full North American trek starting in Nashville in March. With the news comes a video for “Stone Over Water” from musician and animator Sean Solomon , which you can watch below.
The new dates run into the spring, with shows above, below, and, in the case of Niagara Falls, practically on the U.S./Canada border. There are two nights apiece in Atlanta and Boston, as well as a New York show at Radio City Music Hall. Swapmeet are supporting the newly added dates; check out the full itinerary below.
In a press release, Solomon said of the video, “I normally animate music videos for my own songs, but I found this song incredibly personal, even though it wasn’t mine. I think everyone can relate to the little man in the video having a bad day. But I wanted the video to ultimately have a positive message even though it’s sad. Everyone is going through something, and sometimes helping others can be a way to get out of our own heads and remember we’re not alone.”
