Emma Ogier Announces Debut Album Fly 1111: Hear “Hands Tied”
Emma Ogier is a young alt-rock singer-songwriter from Houston who seems to be on a very sharp upward trajectory. Ogier was a teenager during the pandemic, and she developed her twangy and oblique sound in relative isolation. Then she moved to Nashville and released a series of independent singles, starting in 2023. She recently signed with Lost Highway and assisted on Dominic Fike's new single " Small Town ." Ogier recorded Fly 1111 with Lumineers/Noah Kahan producer David Baron. This year, she has released singles like " Rocksteady/HeavyMetal ," " Baby Don't Hurt Me ," and " Keep You ." Her songs definitely have some country-adjacent twang to them, but they also have a splintered, scrawled quality that recalls past indie rock generations. Today, she shares "Hands Tied," a rough and riff-centric song with some big hooks. Before releasing that song, she did a solo-acoustic version as an On The Radar performance , which is pretty funny.
