Iconic London hotel Dukes is set to reopen in mid-2027

Iconic London hotel Dukes is set to reopen in mid-2027

The property, which is home to the legendary martini spot Dukes Bar, will be operated by Minor Hotels.

As legendary watering holes go, Dukes Bar is right up there.

Known for its martinis, which are said to be what inspired Ian Fleming to create James Bond’s signature beverage order, the saloon has welcomed some very famous guests, and even royalty, over the years.

The hotel the bar is in, Dukes London at 35 St James's Place, is currently undergoing renovations, and now we have a rough reopening date: Q2 of 2027, when it will become Dukes London, Minor Reserve Collection.

The 85-key property in the UK capital is being transformed by Russell Sage Studio, and will reopen with 13 executive suites and five signature suites inspired by past guests.

“Few hotels capture the character and heritage of London quite like Dukes,” William E. Heinecke, chairman and founder of Minor International, parent company of Minor Hotels.

“Together with our trusted partner Seven Tides, we look forward to the hotel’s next chapter, preserving Dukes London’s unique identity while expanding its reach through Minor Hotels' global luxury platform.”

While Dukes Bar has stayed open throughout the renovations, the hotel reopening will see the addition of a new lounge and bar, The Delany Drawing Room.

Whiskies are to The Delany Drawing Room what martinis are to Dukes Bar, with 160 different types available (alongside Champagne and cocktails). Featuring a conservatory and secluded garden, The Delany Drawing Room will also open for afternoon tea.

Minor Hotels is also partnering with The Wolseley Hospitality Group, responsible for well-known eateries including The Wolseley and The Delaunay, on a new restaurant.
