Truro’s National League South game at Folkestone Invicta was called off after the visitors’ midfielder Yassine En-Neyah had a medical emergency and was taken to hospital.
The 26-year-old was transported to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for treatment but was responsive on Saturday night, according to an update from the Cornwall club.
“He is stable, sitting up and chatting, but will remain in hospital overnight under observation,” a Truro City statement read.
“The club would like to place on record its thanks to Truro City’s medical staff, their counterparts at Folkestone Invicta, along with all club personnel from the home club.
“Both the National League and Football Association have also offered their help and support. There have also been many well wishes from Truro City fans and the wider football community too.”
En-Neyah joined Truro from Waterford in 2023, having once been on the books at Nottingham Forest. The Morocco-born player was raised in Ireland and spent time in the youth systems of Corduff and Bohemians, before he joined the Forest academy in 2017.
Truro lie third in the National League South table, four points behind the leaders Ebbsfleet United but with a game in hand.
