Prospa’s Harvey announces hiatus from touring due to ongoing ear condition

The DJ and producer has suffered from ear infections and two perforated ear drums over the past six weeks

Harvey Blumler, one-half of Prospa, is taking a hiatus from touring due to an ongoing ear condition.

In a message posted on Instagram , Blumler said it “breaks my heart” to step away from playing shows, revealing he has been dealing with ear infections and two perforated eardrums over the past six weeks. He added that continuing to perform during that period had prevented his ears from properly healing.

“I’ve been seeing a specialist and the advice is to let them heal if I want to continue at all, so for the foreseeable future, I’m going to have sit out the shows,” Blumer wrote in the statement. “I’m hoping it will be something within the next four weeks, yet I’m unsure how long it may be. But after proper rest, I’ll be able to come back better than ever.”

All of Prospa’s upcoming shows will continue as scheduled, with Guiorgi “Gosha” Smith performing solo in Blumler’s absence.

Prospa’s debut album, ‘FREE YOUR MIND’ , was released last month via CircoLoco Records. The 11-track release from the UK electronic duo spans classic house, techno and UK rave influences, and features collaborations with Cloonee, KETTAMA, and Murda Beatz.

Last month, Purple Disco Machine was also forced to cancel a number of upcoming shows due to “severe” tinnitus and hearing loss.
