The very best hotels around the world have been revealed, from opulent establishments in Brazil to cosy retreats in Canada .

Tripadvisor , the world's largest travel guidance platform, has announced the winners of its annual 2026 Travellers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best Hotels.

The awards highlight the highest rated hotels across the world, according to Tripadvisor reviewers.

'This year's Best of the Best Hotels winners represent the top choices of millions of travellers who stayed, experienced, and took the time to review these properties,' said Laurel Greatrix, chief communications officer, Tripadvisor Group.

'Whether it's a luxury resort in Indonesia or a boutique hotel aboard a ship, these winners create the foundation of truly unforgettable trips.'

Here's a rundown of the best hotels in the world, according to Tripadvisor...

The G.H. Universal Hotel in Indonesia takes the top spot in Tripadvisor's rankings

The G.H. Universal Hotel in Bandung, Indonesia, was crowned the Top Hotel in the World for 2026.

The stunning, renaissance-style building offers luxury and comfort and is the perfect spot for exploring West Java - and rooms here start from as little as £35 a night.

Reviews of the establishment rave about it, with one Tripadvisor user saying 'the hotel is luxurious, cool and beautiful,' while another chimes in: 'Activities for children are good,' citing the trampoline and face painting as highlights.

Taking the silver medal in the awards is the Hotel Colline de France in Brazil

Hotel Colline de France brings a taste of European elegance and gold and silver tones to the mountain town of Gramado in Brazil.

With 34 suites all featuring a special fragrance designed for the hotel, the opulent property is perfect for those seeking a taste of luxury - it also offers a wellness centre with relaxing massages, body and facial treatments.

'This hotel is truly special,' one visitor wrote, adding: 'They pay attention to every detail and the service is impeccable. The attendants were always happy to see you and made you feel at home.'

Hotel Sporting Family Hospitality in Italy takes home the bronze medal

Located in Livigno in Italy, Hotel Sporting Family Hospitality is a family-friendly hotel boasting wellness areas, pools, and kids’ facilities.

One regular visitor summarised: 'We have been coming here for several years now and all I can say is that the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms, the closeness to the ski lift, the modern facilities (great parking, wellness, bar and terrace, etc) and the quality of the food are really out of this world.'

The only UK establishment to make the cut is Royal Lancaster London

Closer to home, Royal Lancaster London has been named the fourth best hotel in the world, as well as the best in the UK and the second best in Europe.

The independent luxury hotel overlooks the iconic Hyde Park and is walking distance from many of the capital's top landmarks.

One reviewer wrote: 'We recently stayed here and were absolutely delighted by the experience - from start to finish. The standout feature for us was the "Pawcierge" service, through which we booked an in-room dog sitter.'

Next up is FivePine Lodge and Spa, situated in Oregon in the United States

If you're on the hunt for an immersion in nature, few hotels around the world will be as appealing as FivePine Lodge and Spa in Sisters, Oregon.

The activities available are seemingly endless; mountain biking, road cycling, hiking, fishing and golfing are on offer, as are a spa and heated pool.

Reviews highlight the calm and romantic atmosphere, with one saying: 'Our cabin had everything to make our stay special including a soaking tub, fireplace and our own patio facing out into the pines.'

Taking spot number six is La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Spa in Vietnam

In Hoi An City, Vietnam you will find the La Siesta resort, an imposing hotel with beautiful gardens and floral displays everywhere you look.

Swimming pools are abundant, with four pools, including an infinity one overlooking rice fields, saltwater, freshwater, and a children’s pool.

Plus, the hotel's spa offers a four-hand massage, Himalayan salt therapy, and herbal remedies - meaning it's an ideal spot for a retreat, especially amid a buzzing city.

Abigail's Hotel is the only Canadian hotel to make the top 25 in the world

Abigail's Hotel, situated in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada is unique - it looks like a historic B&B, but also has a luxurious feel.

With space for up to 30 adults, rooms can be booked from just £179 a night, and has been described by many visitors as a 'hidden gem'.

One guest wrote: 'This is the ONLY place to stay when visiting Victoria! We stayed for four nights and each day was unique and excellent - the breakfasts were all delicious and cooked perfectly. The location could not have been better.'

Aruba is a favourite among sunseekers and honeymooning couples - and Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort is the cherry on top.

The award-winning beachside resort is ideal for a real disconnect from reality, and is the Caribbean’s first and only certified carbon-neutral hotel - an eco-credential that might appeal to the more conscious of travellers.

'I think when you go on vacation and while you are there you plan the next trip back to the same place - you might be hooked! That is exactly how we feel about Bucuti and Tara Resort. We recently returned home from our third visit there and once again, it did not disappoint!' read one rave review.
