No new Oasis album as band eyes 2027 European stadium tour

Liam Gallagher has confirmed there will be no new Oasis album, shutting down months of speculation that followed the band's 2024 reunion and 'Live '25' tour. The frontman cited the crushing weight of public expectations as the primary reason for avoiding the recording studio.

Responding to a fan's plea for a record on July 19, 2026, Gallagher said he was not prepared for the backlash "if it doesn’t sell 100 million copies in the 1st hour cure bad breath and constipation for the nation if it doesn’t turn back time for Cher and some other shit let’s just to some gigs and be happy thank you". He added that if the band ever recorded again, it would not sound like "a bunch of electronic umbrellas trying so desperately to keep up with the KIDS".

The dismissal follows a pattern of misdirection that began in late 2024, when Gallagher falsely claimed a finished album was "in the bag". He later admitted on X that he was trolling, stating: "Let’s just calm the fuck down there is no oasis album in the making I was fucking joking". Band manager Alex McKinlay also stated earlier this year that there were "no plan for any new music", a point Gallagher reinforced by stating only he and his brother Noel make band decisions.

For the European live music sector, the lack of new material clarifies the band's business model. Oasis is now operating as a pure touring legacy act, meaning future commercial value will depend entirely on ticket sales and stadium capacities rather than chart performance.

Those live revenues could be substantial. Gallagher has promised the band will "without a doubt, 100 per cent" play Rome in 2027. Sources close to Manchester City football club claim 12 shows are planned for the Etihad stadium next summer, alongside a long-rumoured return to Knebworth. A previous claim in the House of Lords about 2026 Knebworth dates was retracted.

The group is continuing to monetise the 'Live '25' comeback through other media. A Steven Knight-directed documentary, "Don’t Look Back In Anger", arrives in cinemas and IMAX on September 11 before moving to Disney+ and Hulu later in 2026. Meanwhile, recent studio sessions at Abbey Road involving Gallagher and John Squire point to a follow-up to their 2024 collaboration, rather than new Oasis material.
