Chelsea have completed the signing of forward Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for £117m. "I'm really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we've got and where the club is heading," Rogers said. From a squad management perspective, he joins Cole Palmer. "There are no indications that Chelsea want to sell Palmer, far from it," noted Sky Sports News Chief Correspondent Kaveh Solhekol. Solhekol added that Palmer "would cost so much that there are not many clubs who would be able to buy Palmer if Chelsea wanted to sell him."

Former Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris described the acquisition as "a huge signing," though he admitted to being surprised given Rogers was leaving Champions League football. Morris highlighted Rogers' versatility as a tactical asset, noting he can play as a number 10, on the wings, or as a number eight. "He's still young but he's proved it in the Premier League and is a fully-fledged England international," Morris added.
