Liverpool are confident of securing Bradley Barcola from Paris St-Germain. The club believes it can fend off competing interest from Arsenal and Bayern Munich for the 23-year-old forward. Barcola's market value has risen after he recorded four goal contributions for France at the World Cup this summer.
That spending power is further evident in the pursuit of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. Bournemouth recently rejected a £64m bid from Chelsea for the 22-year-old England Under-21 international. Despite the failed bid, Scott remains keen on a move to Chelsea.
Arsenal are currently leading the battle with Manchester United for Scott's signature. However, Scott has specific concerns about the amount of playing time he would receive at the Emirates. This illustrates how non-financial factors still influence high-value transfers.
