Stranger Things actor plays surprise Comic-Con DJ set with tracks by Daft Punk and Justice
Jamie Campbell Bower previously fronted punk band Counterfeit and has released music under his solo project BloodMagic
Stranger Things actor Jamie Campbell Bower performed a surprise DJ set at a Comic-Con 2026 afterparty in San Diego over the weekend.
The English actor and musician, best known for playing the Netflix series villain Vecna, took to the decks at an afterparty hosted by IGN and Amazon Prime at the Hard Rock Hotel on 24th July.
Bower’s 20-minute surprise set featured a mix of electronic hits, including Daft Punk’s ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’, Justice’s ‘Genesis’ and Toddla T & Suggz’s ‘Is About’, as he promoted his upcoming role as Celeborn in season three of The Rings of Power .
“I haven’t DJed since I was like 18, when I was really young”, Bower said in an interview after the set, via EDM.com . “I used to work around in the London indie scene back in the day and there was a club night called Frog at Astoria 2, or Mean Fiddler, which now no longer exists in London. We used to just DJ on Saturday night. It would open at 11 and close at like 2, I think it was, and it was always a really fun experience. It’s just a cool thing to share music with people.”
Bower’s music career also includes fronting punk rock band Counterfeit from 2015 to 2020 and releasing solo material as BloodMagic.
Music played a key role in Stranger Things , with tracks featured in the series often gaining renewed attention. Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill' went to No.1 in the UK charts and hit one billion streams on Spotify after its prominent role in the fourth season of the show, with the artist stating that it had given the song a "whole new lease of life" .
Spotify streams of classic Prince tracks ‘When Doves Cry’ and ‘Purple Rain’ more than doubled after featuring in the finale show’s finale, while back in January, Moby released a reworked version of his 1995 track ‘When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die’, which was introduced to a new generation after featuring in the fourth season of Stranger Things in 2022 .
