Nyege Nyege launches Brussels festival, MIRROR WORLD
Two-day tickets to the festival will be priced at just €30
Nyege Nyege is expanding into Europe with a new sister festival in Brussels, MIRROR WORLD.
Set to take place on 25th and 26th September 2026 at venues CityGate and La Fabriek, it will mark the Ugandan festival and label’s first European event since its founding in 2015.
According to press material, MIRROR WORLD is designed to be “anti-linear, anti-headliner fetish, community-rooted and radically accessible”, with two-day tickets priced at just €30.
The programme will span talks, visual arts, screenings, and music, bringing together more than 40 artists across the weekend. Full line-up announcements will be made in the coming months.
“We feel like having a small home in Brussels will help bring our European community together and grow it, in turn creating lots of opportunities to showcase new artists,” the Nyege Nyege team shared. “Seeing and attending so many festivals over the last 10 years, we felt we could bring a different kind of sauce to the party.”

According to a government report, the latest edition of Nyege Nyege festival generated $2 million for the Ugandan economy , with local businesses taking home almost 80% of the total spending. Last year, the festival moved location from Jinja Town to Kalagala Falls on the Nile.
Meanwhile, the label arm of Nyege Nyege, which was set up in 2016, released a new mixtape from Nigerian “freebeat” pioneer DJ Tobzy Imole Giwa last year.
