Watch Amelie Lens DJ to 14,000 people in front of Antwerp’s Royal Museum of Fine Art
The landmark event marked the launch of her debut album
Amelie Lens performed to 14,000 fans outside Antwerp's Royal Museum of Fine Art last weekend. You can watch a selection of clips from the three-hour set below.
Taking place in Lens' hometown, the open-air session coincided with the release of her long-awaited debut album, ' AURA '. Landing on her own EXHALE label, the record shares its name with the Belgian DJ and producer's latest live concept, which has been touring globally for the past few months. More dates are now lined up for Europe and North America throughout autumn, including during Amsterdam's ADE .
"Antwerp, you left us with tears in our eyes, what an absolute dream coming true," Lens posted to Instagram after the party. "14,000 of you dancing as one in front of the museum was something we could never have dreamt of. We couldn’t have wished for a better way to celebrate this special moment, you’ve made this dream come true.”
“Endless thanks to everyone who danced with us, and to all the artists and organisers who made it unforgettable," she added. "Regal, Anne Gr, Blonde, Herton, WeCanDanceFest, Chaos in the City events, HighScream, and of course you, the EXHALE family.”
Antwerp's Royal Museum of Fine Art, or KMSKA, was founded in 1810 and is home to a renowned collection of illustrative work and sculptures dating from the 14th to 20th Century. Lens' show was the first time the landmark public square outside the institution has been used for an event of this kind.
It was also the first leg of a two- Chaos In the City programme. The second is set to take place on Saturday 26th September in Brussels, where HAAi will play a special b2b alongside an as-yet-unannounced guest.
