A brand new nightclub has opened in Ragusa, Sicily, the first in the Iblean territory with a year-round programme focusing on underground dance music.
SELVA Club Natura opened for the first time on Friday, August 14, taking over a fortified farmhouse in the countryside, just a stone’s throw from the beaches of Marina di Ragusa.
The new space features three stages: a central open-air space named Cavea; and two indoor rooms, Ballatoio and Scuderie, both built for SELVA's autumn and winter programming.
SELVA’s opening line-ups featured the likes of Raresh and Roi Perez, with additional shows to come from artists including Satoshi Tomiie and u.r.trax, who will perform at a трип to Sicilia afterparty alongside other label artists.
The venue also features a "state-of-the-art" d&b audiotechnik soundsystem and immersive lighting, and is designed with "long nights outdoors" in mind.
Programming will also be extended to local talent as well as international artists, holding regular slots for DJs in the region while acting as a "community space".

"Nature, music, people," reads a description on SELVA’s website . "A frontier club, where untouched landscapes of stone and wilderness exist like works in progress."
SELVA also features its own pizzeria space on site, Flora, a multi-purpose terrace overlooking the natural surroundings of the club offering food and selected music programming.
