Bad Bunny's band pays tribute to Avicii at Stockholm show with 'Wake Me Up'

Bad Bunny's band paid tribute to Avicii during his performance in Sweden over the weekend.
During the show at Stockholm’s Friends Arena on Saturday (11th June), band member José Eduardo Santana performed a rendition of Avicii’s ‘Wake Me Up’ on the cuatro, a traditional guitar-like string instrument from Puerto Rico.
In footage shared online, fans can be heard singing along to the stripped-back interpretation of the track, which was originally released in 2013 in collaboration with Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger and Aloe Blacc.
The moment follows a run of high-profile collaborations from the Puerto Rican superstar, including his recent appearance with Gorillaz at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium , where the artists performed ‘Clint Eastwood’ and ‘Tormenta’ together.
Bad Bunny is currently on the European leg of his ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’ world tour with upcoming shows in Warsaw, Milan and Brussels, before heading out to Asia and Australia.
Tomorrowland has also continued to honour Avicii’s legacy, with last year’s festival paying tribute to the Swedish artists nearly a decade after his final headline performance at the festival.
The Avicii Tribute installation will make its return to Tomorrowland Belgium later this week, while the producer’s Tomorrowland DJ sets are available to stream via Apple Music .
